following the success of the midnight express single >danger zone<, robbie m and terry patton continued to search for new sounds. over the next few years the duo would produce dozens of instrumental sketches. terry always recorded these backing arrangements to cassette tapes so they could easily listen to them later in the car. cruising the streets of rock island il, vocalist robbie m would write the additional melodies and lyrics.

the first new material from tim deluxe in a while and well worth the wait with these 2 heavy heavy club cuts. jack it started life for tim as live jam on his machine drum analogue box of tricks and shows in its energy and swing. mupod continues in much the same vein, all analogue beats and bleeps, big in the boxes of groove armada, chris fortier adn x press 2, and the title was inspired by the lovely little creature shown as the packshot here. last copies !!

allow us to introduce creatures of habit. the brainchild of dj/producer brenden wesley, the boston outfit s membership boasts a wild band of guest players, with musical virtuosos and analogue gear whores alike. relentless jam sessions between wesley and close pals chas bronz & robbie roland yielded lustre , their debut offering on the esteemed solardisco label. an aural innuendo anchored by a hypnotic, low-slung bassline, the song deftly trades in warm, flirtatious instrumentation and studio wizardry. through his akult party, brenden s not only honed his chops as a dj, he s befriended a whole host of the new disco cognoscenti. amongst them are brooklyn s own nick chacona, who recently released his debut long player on moodmusic to much acclaim, and dfa darlings runaway, who have been reeled in for remix duties. both artists head straight into house territory with decidedly different results. chacona shoots for the stars with his cosmic take on the original, adding just the right amount of sleaze and putting in one of his finest reworks in recent memory. runaway deepen things out with aplomb, dusting off the rhodes to drive their quirky mix home. connecting the dots between boston and brooklyn discotheques, this ep marks quite the auspicious debut for creatures of habit.

royal oak with futuristic house sounds from one of hollands longest running house producers gerd. some gorgeous warm rhodes driven tracks with interstellar melodies. two tracks that sound like a stream of fresh air. friendly fire has an incredible drive with its warm rhodes chords and a deep sub bass. unique track that gives the traditional house ingredients a twist. vibration on the flip (which is actually a studio jam with the friendly fire parts) goes in a slightly slower house pace and is combines bleepy melodies with a deep powerful drive that reveals its nature once played out loud.

lil tony is hotter than hot. while starting to dj and produce years ago, tony has been a staple in the scandinavian club scene since the early 90s. an amazing dj (actually one of the favourites around the moodmusic hq) and a talented producer, tony started with the fbi project with roberto rodriguez and kimmo oksanen before dropping some serious damage on raw trax vol. 1 last year on moodmusic. caned by everyone from luciano (he edited his own version of semble) to dj hell, tonys raw grooves cut the crap and moved people when other producers had to take a leak. hardworking, never forgetting his gentleman manners, tony is here to stay and raw trax vol. 2 is a bold new statement, and his best work to date. solid state takes the classic detroit influenced drum machine vs piano theme a step forward, a impeccable jam of 15 minutes with the beat keeping the pace, this has been roadproofed the last 6 months to good effect. the b-side karamba is a dry, tight driven tech-workout, perfect mixtool for the deeper techno as well as housier sets. it just works well. the closing checkpoint charlie is a tale of >lost in helsinki< – dark mean bass wanders around and gives space for the chuggin main line, monotonic body music at its best.

2003 classic!

these two tracks have proved to work wonders on dancefloors across the planet, support from all the usual players and a massive follow up to the previous two >club tracks< releases in the series, which have received plays and praise by djs from all various styles such as laurent garnier, d julz, heartthrob, luke slater and dj hell to name a few. a-side track >nobody home< grows into a huge build using an oldschool moog-bassline, whilst the b-side chops up and pitches around an edited voicerecording over straight forward beat, resulting in a very unusual, groovy and hypnotic jam for the late hours.

return to form (take that, haters!) hits at the body repeatedly, slamming away with a lack of abandon and a new sense of protocol. major stars are known for being psychedelic rock journeymen (and journey lovin women), but of late, their rocks psych roots seem to be dyed platinum white, with a truckers cap shoved on top of the whole mess. its jukebox ready hard rock with a hallucinogenic edge, sure ? or perhaps its just the impact of their triple guitar git down, causing your head to throb with concussive force? dont worry, long time star children ? these guys still jam, but they ve got short numbers too, and wailing, roadhouse vocals sailing over the punch ups. a terrific variety, but a return to form? pffft! what form? these guys have been in plasma state forever! whatever form it takes, thats what it is. and major stars are presently shining on in white dwarf style ? compacted, but with a violent gleam.

kink - bitter sweet
kink has built up quite a reputation recently with some amazing work on rush hour alongside neville watson, and two slamming old-school-vibed remixes on liebe*detail. now we present his debut original track for the label, and >bitter sweet< really shows off his tender, heartfelt approach to house. raw, beautiful, melancholic and spine-tingling, this is modern house with a harmonious nod to the pioneers, connecting with us on deeper levels and remaining within us forever.
tom demac - draw me in
wales tom demac has already proved prolific as a producer constantly putting out genre defying, funky and ingenious hybrid house. also his debut for liebe*detail, >draw me in< takes on a strong and bass-heavy approach, with tight drums and freaky vocal-snippets melting together into a mutant jam of seismic proportions. reduced, casual and yet deadly cool, its a welcome additions to toms excellent production catalogue!

side a: features “depth of my soul” soulful and deep house blend in this down tempo jam. but slower bpms only add style and atmosphere to the track. side b: where is the compassion - the soulful component is still pretty strong yet. it designs a journey through feelings, typical of a warehouse rave. again echoes of a recent past, still very poignant. vibes reveals a more jazzy/boogie ambient. to many ears those vibes shared are not mysterious at all in the origin. still this is a very cool, current adaptation to the dancefloor. massive release!!

adultnappers original mix of monitor is a minimalist, atmospheric house outing with warm, evocative piano chords. percussive and synth soundscapes wash over the groove adding a stylish textural dynamic. conversely, mkl vs bgss (members of the group brazillian girls) step onto the scene with a live, organic funkafied jam that steps skillfully through afrobeat and retro disco/funk territory without missing a beat.

with accumulated success of the first installment from us based fragmeted audio, the highly anticipated second release arrives after a brief hiatus.
featuring the title track from las kj gibbs (i.e. apendics shuffle) and remixes from berlins dilo and berkeleys j. tonnissen (i.e. davros, praxis), this release is a full-on hypnotic sensory exploit into mind twisting late night techno. kj gibbs delivers a shuffled up head-spinning funk jam laden with precise hits, live acoustic samples and heavily modulated effect work. taking a slightly deeper approach, dilo offers up a much more subtle journey through deep hazy loopy drum bits, morphed vocal hauntings and a progressive yet solid drive. completing the mix, label boss j. tonnissen kicks it up a notch with a monster low-end bassline, menacing analog synth loops, clever vocal edits and huge floor power.

dug up from the crypts this one is set to explode. todd terry esque synth stabs over top of some larry levan flavored beats. all the accapella pieces are included and on the flip joeski gets to work and brings this retro house jam to the forfront. with a simple bassline and some dubbed out effects on top and a harder kick...
